As Africa’s largest natural harbor, Bunce Island was used as a base for European slave merchants. As Sierra Leone’s first protected historical site, the island is an important part of history. This exhibit of video and door-sized display panels illustrates Bunce Island’s past and its link to North America and the Gullah culture.
